The Unwanted, Compromised Marriage

The story of this drama encompasses the problems of a couple. Ashar marries Khirad by making a compromise. Actually Khirad’s mother is a cancer patient. She came to live with her wealthy brother Baseerat and dies there. Before death, she requests her brother to take responsibility of Khirad’s marriage.

Ashar’s Mother: A Typical Villain

Baseerat asks his son Ashar to marry Khirad. Ashar, somehow unwillingly agrees to marry Khirad. But Ashar’s mother Farida is strictly against this marriage and Khirad. She has always wanted to make her niece, Sara, her daughter in law.

Sara’s Suicide Attempt

Drama Humsafar proceeds and the couple is not comfortable in this forced marriage. Sara also tries to kill herself. Khirad fells inferior in front of Ashar. As the story of Humsafar moves forward, Ashar and Khirad come close.

Sara remains in the life of Ashar as a friend. Still, Sara has some feelings for Ashar. Khirad gets enrolled in a university. Here, she meets Sara’s cousin Khizar.

The Entrace of A New Powerful Villain: Khizar

Khizar wants to attract Sara. Sara takes advantage of Khizar. Khizar starts creating misunderstandings between the couple. He does this all on the orders of Sara. Farida also adds fuel to the fire. She promises Khizar some money and Sara’s hand in marriage. In return, Khizar convinces Ashar that he is having an affair with Khirad. Something, you often see in Pakistani dramas.

Fareeda, Sara, and Khizar all join hands. Fareeda accuses Khirad of adultery. Ashar believes in this all. Khirad is forced out of the house.

She goes to live with her mother’s friend. Khirad also gives birth to a daughter.

The Happy Ending

After 4 years, she returns to Ashar for their daughter’s surgery. Meanwhile, Farida is exposed before everyone. Drama Humsafar ends up with the married couple living peacefully with their daughter.

Sila’s previous boss, Ahmar asks Sila to sing the divorce papers as he wanted to marry her. Sila could not sign the papers. Zoya also visits Sila and apologizes for everything. Dastaan starts with Hassan’s aunt Suraiya and Saleem’s wedding. Hassan and Bano meet each other here and fall in love. After sometime, Hassan and Bano get engaged. Hassan moves to Rawalpindi due to his job. He promises to return after 5 months for marriage.

Tension Sparks with Bloodshed

Meanwhile, Hindu-Muslim tensions increase. Sikhs and Hindus start to kill Muslims. One unlucky night, Saleem and his family are attacked. Saleem, pregnant Suraiya, and Bano’s brother are killed. Two Hindu friends of Saleem appear on the scene. They save Bano and her mother. One of them later tries to rape Bano but Bano runs away.

Bano Leaves for Pakistan

Drama Dastaan enters into a new phase after this. Bano, along with her mother starts to walk towards Pakistan. On her way, Bano’s mother dies. Bano also raped but she survives it.

Bano’s Abduction

Bano then catches a train for Pakistan. The train is attacked on its way to Lahore. A Sikh named Basant Singh kidnaps Bano. He brings her to his home. He lies to Bano by promising her to take her to Pakistan. Throughout this time, Basant along with his mother tries to covert Bano to Sikhism. Bano learns about his plan. She tries to run but gets caught. Basant rapes Bano and she gets pregnant. After sometime, he dies.

Yet Another Tragedy Waits for Bano

She runs away and goes to Hassan. She finds out that Hassan is now interested in his cousin Rabia. Hassan decides to leave Rabia for Bano. Bano forces them both to marry each other and leaves ther house.

Bano finds a new man while searching for job. That man rapes Bano. Bano kills him and is then taken to mental asylum. Dastaan ends when married Hassan and Rabia visit Bano in that asylum.

Bulbulay is a comedy sitcom about an unusual family. This family consists of Nabeel, his wife Khubsurat, his mother Momo, and his step dad Mehmood Sahib.

The story starts with 2 bachelors Nabeel and Mehmood. A friend of Nabeel named Ahmed is moving abroad. So, he asks Nabeel to take care of his apartment.

Nabeel takes advantage of his friend’s absence. He starts living in that apartment. In the meantime, Khusbsurat runs away from her house. She runs away because her father is forcefully getting her married. She arrives in the same apartment looking for her friend. Her friend is Ahmed’s wife.

Bulbulay proceeds and Khubsurat starts living with Nabeel and Mehmood. Later, Nabeel’s mother Momo visits him. Momo has a disease of forgetting everything.

The Love Sparks but unlike it happens in other romantic Pakistani dramas

Nabeel tells Khubsurat that his mother won’t like an unmarried girl living with him. So, she pretends as if she is Nabeel’s maid. Later in Bulbulay, Momo and Mehmood fall in love with each other. Momo also decides to make Khubsurat her daughter-in-law.

Things Start Getting Rough

Momo gets married to Mehmood. Khubsurat and Nabeel also get married. Khubsurat’s father Siddiqui also angrily accepts the marriage. Right after the marriages, Ahmed tells Nabeel that someone is moving into the apartment. This means that Nabeel and his family have to leave the house.

Bulbulay takes a new turn here. Khusurat’s father buys a new house to the family. He also gets Nabeel a new job. Nabeel refuses to work. He and Mehmood stay at home all day long and do nothing.

Siddiqui manages all the expenses of the family. He sends them money each month. Khubsurat and Momo give births to a daughter chandi and son Sona respectively. Throughout Bulbulay, the family is show being coned, robbed, or conflicting with each other.

Khubsurat and Momo both want their husbands to work for their children’s future. Both the men are lazy and do not work.

Kashaf is a very strong girl in Zindagi Gulzar Hai. She wants to be something so that she can help her mother. She gets scholarship in a prestigious university. There she meets Zaroon.

Zaroon and Kashaf do not get along at start. Zaroon gets engaged to his friend Asmara. Later, Zaroon starts to like Kashaf. His engagement with Asmara also breaks. Zaroon states many time that he will marry a girl with qualities like those in Kashaf. Zaroon and Kashaf again meet each other after university in CSS affairs.

Zaroon tries getting closer to Kasahaf. Kashaf remains reluctant. Zaroon’s friend Osama proposes Kashaf but Kashaf refuses. That’s how many Pakistani dramas introduce a twist in the plot these days.

Zaroon and Kashaf’s Marriage

Kashaf’s mentor Abrar is Zaroon’s family friend. Zaroon takes his help and proposes Kashaf. She initially refuses but later on accepts the proposal. Both get married to each other.

Kashaf and Zaroon start leading a happy married life. Here, a twist comes in Zindagi Gulzar Hai. Zaroon gets to know about Osama’s proposal.

Zaroon conflicts with Kashaf because of Osama. Soon, they find out that Kashaf is pregnant and reconcile. Later, Kashaf finds out that Zaroon is still in contact with Asmara.

Kashaf leaves Zaroon and goes back to her mother. Later, she calls Zaroon. She tells him that they are going to have twins. He flies and returns to Kashaf. Zindagi Gulzar Hai ends with the couple having two twins. The closing scene shows Zaroon playing with his daughters.

Meanwhile, Sajida’s late husband Pervaiz’s brother Imtiaz proposes Sajida. They both get married. On the day of marriage, Sheedan’s husband dies. Meeran used to hate her profession. After her father’s death, she starts singing. Ilyaas also leaves her.

Twist in Meeran’s life:

Once in a function, Milli, a girl from that music band meets Meera. Another girl from that band is leaving the band. So, Milli takes Meeran’s address and offers her to join their band.

One day, Imtiaz tries to rape Meera. The friendship of both families ends. Imtiaz also rapes his daughter Zebo but Sajida is unaware of all this.

Meeran leaves for city to join the band of Arsh, Haris, and Milli. They work hard and win a competition. Arsh falls in love with Meera.

When Sajida finds out that Imtiaz rapes Zebo, she kills him. Both the mother and daughter run away and start living with Meeran.

After many years, Imtiaz comes back. He files a case against Sajida. Zebo also goes to the court. Imtiaz is found guilty of rape and is imprisoned.

The Happy Ending

Udaari ends with the agreement of Arsh and Meeran for marriage. Zebo and Sajida also start leading a peaceful life.

Diyar-e-Dil takes a new turn here. Farah starts developing affection towards Agha Jaan and Wali during these 3 months. She also realizes the mistakes of her mom and uncle’s family.

Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Benishan comes back to present time. Sara visits her relatives. Everyone meets her nicely. But no one tells her about Saba’s story.

Sara’s and Haider’s Love Life Starts

Sara agrees to marry Haider. Sara goes missing right before the wedding. Haider also gets curious about Saba’s story.

Here, Arfeen proceeds the story from past. He reveals that his mother accused Saba of illegally being with Adil. Adil was Saba’s cousin who was once interested in her.

Things Kept on Getting Worse in Saba’s Life

Arfeen’s mother lied with her hands on Quran that Saba is not innocent. Saba says nothing in her defense. Arfeen divorced Saba. Arfeen remarried and had a son. Later, he separated from his wife. Saba was forcefully married to an old man. But he later divorced her in pregnancy. Saba gave birth to a girl and lived alone.

Second Season of the Drama

In second season we see that Hammad gets ill because of Imaan’s death. He is admitted into a hospital. When he recovers, his family sends him to America. Here, he meets a girl a named Sarah Issac.

Sarah’s Troublesome Love Life

Sarah is a Christian. Sarah falls in love with Hammad. She decides to marry him. Her parents do not accept Hammad. They don’t want their daughter to marry a Muslim. At this, Sarah leaves her house.

Hammad finds her and brings her back. Sarah’s family forgives her. She forgives them too. In the end of season 2 of Khuda aur Mohabbat, Hammad decides to return to Pakistan. Just before the departure, Sarah meets him. The drama closes with both of them together.
